You don't need a blood test, doctors can diagnose peri/menopause by symptoms alone. ADs are not recommended, have a look at the NICE guidance on treatment of menopausal symptoms.

Hi I am looking into HRT for heavy bleeding due to perimenopause, I have bleeding for 10 days and day 6,7 and 8 are so bad I can’t leave my bed or the toilet ! I’m on Noriday mini pill with no previous issues , what would be the best HRT ? Any recommendations much appreciated

Dogsgottabone · 11/01/2023 12:29

@Ljmck i now use tranexamic acid for my peri menopausal heavy periods. It basically dries them up. No flooding any more.

Ljmck · 11/01/2023 12:31

I have tried that and doesn’t make any difference unfortunately

Ljmck · 11/01/2023 12:33

Maybe I don’t take them at the right time ? I bleed very light for 5 days then day 6 it is so bad , should I take it on first day of very light bleed?

Sorry you're suffering op, not sure about the burping but the rest are classic peri/meno symptoms. As a pp said they won't test for hormone levels as at your age it is to be presumed hormone depletion will be the cause.

There's 2 choices tbh. Manage issues with lifestyle changes so if you drink coffee or alcohol then stop or reduce drastically. You need physical activity daily to help sleep, try apps or cbt to assist with anxiety.

Or, if all else fails and you want to try hrt then read up on it, go armed with NICE guidelines and say you'd like to try body identical transdermal hrt.

Things may well settle down with attention to self care etc so don't despair!

What do people take if they get a lot of indigestion ? I don’t want PPIS they didn’t work last time I tried omeperazole 😌
