HRT GEL weight gain!

I've read through a few of the posts, looks like the majority of us are experiencing weight gain since starting HRT.
Some have suggested going from 2 pumps of the gel to 1 - has anyone tried this and noticed a difference?
Also the tablet we take for 12 days supposedly makes you drowsy, but I'm having worse sleep than before!

This is why I'm sticking with vagifem only. I've worked hard to lose 2 stone and don't want to put it back on. My HRT prescription is still in the box while I decided but I've decided it's not worth it for me as my symptoms are minimal.

@Carolina78 i reduced to one. Made no difference to my weight loss. I also increased to 3 as was told the gain could be down to hormone imbalance, made me like a zombie. So i just stopped. I honestly feel so much better.
Started taking more supplements and magnesium, collagen and glucosamine before bed for achy joints

i also stopped HRT due to the weight gain and it absolutely was the cause of me gaining a several pounds. Women are all different and the dismissal that it doesn't cause weight gain is very annoying. Yes, some women do not experience this and that's fine but don't make sweeping judgments of others experiencing the opposite by simple statements of "you need to check your calorie intake.....you're eating more than you think" etc. This is just annoying and ignorant.

Since stopping HRT, i've lost the weight, feel less bloated and altogether much more balanced. My main symptom was night sweats so i started taking sage tablets. And since they kicked in - a couple of weeks, I have not had one since. This is actually better than HRT as i still had them whilst taking it albeit not as intense as they were initially.

@Gemma5678 i couldnt agree more. I track calories, meal prep, train at least 4 times a week, hiit & strength training, walk miles with dog, work and do around 1600 steps a shift and yet gained around a stone and a half! It was the hrt, as soon as i came off it the weight came off🤷 only explanation.
I also get frustrated when told different about hrt not being the cause. We are all different like you said, and what works & is good for one doesnt mean it works for all.
