Covid and HRT

Has anyone experienced a bout of covid interfering with their HRT. Had no previous problems on HRT but after a recent bout of covid I have had a mini bleed. I’m 5 years post meno on continuous HRT and so I t’s worrying. Never happened before.

i have a GP appointment so am checking it out. I know covid can interfere with periods so it got me thinking.

Anecdotally, I have heard of women having a bleed after covid or a covid vaccine. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about but the general advice is always to mention unexpected bleeding to the GP. I hoe you get reassurance at your appointment.

Not HRT, but I'm on the combined contraceptive pill and take back to back to avoid periods. After Covid I had a random bleed despite taking all my pills on my usual schedule. It was light and didn't last many days thankfully but was v odd

Thanks. That’s interesting. Maybe the virus suppresses one of the hormones. Hoping my issue is due to this. It’s a bit of a coincidence that it happened right after covid.

I have been on HRT for 8 months with no issues until I had covid about 2 months ago. I had a light bleed just after recovering from the virus but now about 6 weeks later I had awful PMT symptoms, sore boobs, irritable etc and have now been bleeding for over 2 weeks. It's now getting heavy and I'm getting a lot of pain. I'm going to contact the doctor as I don't know if it's effects from the virus or I need to up my HRT?

Interesting. There is evidence the vax interferes with HRT and periods. I have t seen much about the virus itself and HRT but it seems there could definitely be a link. Hope you get sorted.

Yes i hadnt had a period for 8 months, had covid, a few days later had all pm symptoms then a period, had nothing since, & im on continious hrt now, & no bleeds since. Ive heard quite a lot of this off colleagues of mine

Yes. I had issues after having the jab and catching covid. Apparently it’s very common.
