43 with peri symptoms then completely missed a period??

I've done 2 tests and not pregnant but it's a bit odd!

I've had lots of peri symptoms and a blood test which doc said showed normal levels (think it was just FSH not oestrogen / progesterone levels) and they won't do anything else until I'm 45. Cycles we're getting a bit wonky but nothing too drastic.

Made all the diet and lifestyle changes and this month the only difference is I've started taking Starflower.

But now I'm 2 weeks late with no signs it's imminent..!!

Anything I should be worried about??

I missed the occasional period during Peri, there were even a few times I had 2 in a month!
Dsis (older) had the same so I assumed it was just normal?

I'm absolutely assuming it's normal but DH is a worry wart and keeps trying to send me to the GP which I'm pretty sure is pointless. No other symptoms eg pain

My cycle became erratic in perimenopause from around age 44. I used to have a 28 day cycle then it changed to anything from every three weeks to a couple of months between periods, and much heavier than previously. It's normal. I got a Mirena coil after putting up with it for 18 months and never had another period. No need to worry or see the doctor unless you feel the need to do something about it.

Apparently they need to do two blood tests 6 weeks apart now to ascertain whether you're entering menopause. I'm 42 and the same as you but have missed 3 periods now. I've had my first blood test and will have the next one in January so we'll see

I started missing periods / having erratic cycles from my early 40s. Often would skip several months

EBearhug · 20/12/2022 20:35

Yep, seems normal. Cycle went from regular to anything from about 18 days to 68. I wouldn’t panic, unless you've been having loads of unprotected sex. <carefully avoids mirror>

It's really normal for periods to go haywire.

I had three in 6 weeks recently. Uro-gynae told me that's perfectly normal, it's my oestrogen levels changing and has sent me back to GP for HRT (who I was already talking to about the options anyway).

I'm 44 and no one blinked, GP asked me a load of questions and immediately said I was peri-menopausal and will give HRT.

So it's up to you I suppose but I can't wait till I get a prescription just as soon as I can pin down another GP appointment!

45, periods all over the shop. Had hrt for a few months earlier in the year but I got all wobbly round the middle so I'll be avoiding that until I get worse symptoms!!
