Histamine intolerance is a thing and can be triggered by hormones.

My allergies appeared with puberty, went mental in one of my pregnancies and has got worse with peri 🤬

MyDearAcquaintance · 10/12/2022 20:48

I don't know if it's related to peri, but I'm the same age and seem to have developed an allergy to cold weather and exercise - both make my nose run and sneeze, and exercising in cold weather can make my eyes run like I'm crying too. I have to remember to take tissues with me now!

Yes to dry eyes. Also to sneeziness all year round. (I'm 49).

Yoyoyo1 · 10/12/2022 20:54

That's interesting. I never had anything but have to use tissues all the time. Dust seems to trigger it the most.

I had similar symptoms and after 18 months I went to the GP, after an assessment I was advised I had nasal polyps and given a nasal spray which have eradicated the issues.

I had assumed it was a dust allergy 😂

Fucking hell! Is this a thing?! I'm 43 and sneezing like I've got hay fever. It's not a coldy sneeze as I know the difference. Even DH commented that it sounded like I had hay fever.

FancyFelix · 10/12/2022 21:01

Ooh this is interesting. I had no idea this was a menopause thing. I am 41 and have been sneezing so much for the last couple of months, have no idea what has been causing it

Thank you everyone on here. I think you have just solved my issue.

I was also diagnosed with atrophic eczema when I was 13 - it's a combination of eczema, asthma and hay fever. This all makes sense!

Min is heyfever all year around. I take the tablet almost everyday. From dust, make up powder, trees, pollen, food, charity shops, grass. I basically do run. symptoms are running nose, sore throat. Worst times are from April to September.
