I took it for 1 week and then the dr told me to stop. Should I expect a bleed? And how long after stoping?

With oestrogen?

I take 100mg a day for 25 days a month. With two pumps of oestrogel. No bleeds

No Utrogestan. I was taking oestrogen 1 pump and Utrogestan but dr said to stop half way through the 14 days of Utrogestan

Your GP is wrong.

The dose is 12 days or 14 days if women have heavier withdrawal bleeds on 12 days.

You should correct your GP so they don't keep misprescribing.

This is really bad.

My gp prescribed 25 days of 100mg utrogestan.

@Janieread Presumably you are post menopause?

I assume the OP is not. But who knows? A 7-day dose doesn't exist!

The 25 day dose is for women with no natural periods for a year, or very few periods (ie one over 4 months or fewer.)

For women in peri, the dose is cyclical/ sequential, like a normal 'fertile' period.
So, estrogen every day and Utrogestan for 12 days (or 14) per month.

Most women who use it continuously (as you are ) are now being advised to take it every day without the 3-day break. That break was to allow a bleed if the lining has thickened, but it's so rare this happens on 25 days out of 28 that specialists are advising to use it daily. This also brings it into line with all other continuous forms of HRT ( patches and tablets.)

Yes I am post meno. That's really interesting. I never have a bleed in the gap and feel much better when I am taking utrogestan so don't like the break anyway.

My gp was very much saying research and take as it suits
