Just had a call back from doctors about my symptoms as stated new hrt I started a month ago, as my others stopped working the first doctor I spoke to said if having problems I could see about going to a menopause clinic.
I know they take time to your body to get use to them but I don't know what stage I am at so just wanted to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about
The doctor I have just spoken to this morning to told me I couldn't see one because I not been them on very long which I thought plus my symptoms weren't to do with the menopause
and that hrt are for hot flushes only and not for other symptoms, i ask if I could have a blood test as just tired to see if there where a nother reason I was feeling this way he say yes but not until after the new year
Just so upset when you need help it just not there x

Can you ask to see/speak to another doctor? Some are very poorly educated about menopause in general. The first GP i saw at my surgery and asked for HRT flat refused and prescribed me folic acid. The second was much more helpful. 333

@Pmj You are supposed to give it 3 months, so if it's very early days.

plus my symptoms weren't to do with the menopause and that hrt are for hot flushes only and not for other symptoms,

This is nonsense. Unbelievable that a dr believes this when where are over 30 symptoms of per meno.

I'd not raise your hopes about a menopause clinic, as many have waiting lists of months and some women are saying a 2 year wait! Crazy.

You can possibly get a lot of help here if you post in more detail about what hrt you are on now and how you're feeling.

Read up on the menopause matters website - very factual and most GPs seem to refer to it but then not actually read it themselves!!

Where are you up to with the blood test? Is the appointment in the New Year, or do you have to phone back in 2023 to make the appointment?
Tbh it takes weeks to get an appointment for bloods at my GP, unless urgent, so if that's what they meant I think that might be the norm. If it was something else though, I don't see why you'd have to wait unless you just had one done?
