Hi

id really be interested to hear peoples experiences / views.

im 38. Have a v complicated gynaecological history and multiple invasive surgeries. First child last year.

since birth, cycle has shortened to 24 days. Mood swings are off the chart Ie feeling sometimes suicidal before period and extreme depression and anxiety. I spoke to a private consultant who said she thinks it likely I’m in the early menopause - and this can be caused by ++ gynae surgeries. She also said I probably have PMDD (which I certainly agree with)

she suggested HRT. Is this likely to help the mood swings? If it isn’t early menopause but PMDD would HRT help?

I really have lost the plot with how dreadful I feel 75% of the time. Something needs to change but HRT feels quite extreme - and kind of like I’m giving up on having Another child.

any advice from people similarly placed would be very helpful.

thanks for reading
