I’ve been to the doctor about menopause symptoms, only relatively mild ones so far (sweating at night and being very forgetful). She did blood tests and apparently I’m not in perimenopause (I’m not sure I believe this as everything I’ve read says blood tests are unreliable as hormones will be up and down all the time, and I’m 49 so highly likely to be menopausal). But the blood tests did show slightly raised prolactin levels. So I’ve had to have blood tests for prolactin twice more (every three months) and they are slightly more raised each time (but only 500 - the normal range is under 400).
I’ve got a telephone appointment to follow up the last tests but not till January, I’ve just been wondering, are high prolactin levels just part of menopause?
