How many are you given when you first start? I was sure the GP said 3 months but I have 8, so only 4 weeks worth. Is that enough time to tell if it is working or not?

How many do you normally get for a prescription charge?

Thanks!!

I can’t remember how many I was given when I started on them. The latest prescription I had was 6 months worth and I was charged for one prescription,

I got mine last week, 3 boxes so 3 months supply.

Ok thanks. Looks like I got short changed 🙄

I think the usual amount is 3 months. Perhaps because you have just started they'll want to see you after 2 to see if it's starting to have an effect and check your stats etc.

MissSmiley · 27/11/2022 10:45

8 is one months worth, it'll be on repeat

MagpieCounting · 27/11/2022 10:51

I'm not sure you can get HRT on repeat prescription - at my surgery you have to make an appointment to get a consultation and give your blood pressure. First time I got three months and after two cycles it went up to 6 months.

I started off with 4 boxes as my first prescription ( a months worth?) then onto a 3 month prescription

I think on private prescription they are around £22 a box

I recently started. GP prescribed 1 x box just to make sure no adverse reactions. Then on 3 x boxes per prescription.
