Started HRT now I’ve got thrush

Started oestrogen gel and progesterone tablets 4 weeks ago. Now I’ve got horrendous thrush. I’m about to try the canasten pessary treatment for the third time in a week. Is this usual?

Are you sure it's thrush? What I thought was thrush turned out to be vaginal atrophy. I rarely get the discharge with thrush, and the burning, itching, soreness occurs with both conditions.
