Incredibly frequent bleeding

I’m 50. I went for several months over the summer with no period but since then my period has turned up approx every 2 weeks and I’ve had a bleed again today, a week after the last one! It feels like a proper period too, with period pain (although the bleeding has now stopped).

Is this normal?!

Bleeding after your periods have stopped for a while should be discussed with your GP. Give them a ring and see if you can get a phone appointment if not a face to face appointment.

Yes I had this. I was really afraid as I had no idea that it could be anything related to menopause (and I thought I was too young at 46) until my GP explained it. The mini pill eased the erratic periods and other symptoms I had.
