Knackered Knees

I swear my knees are knackered and I also get pain in the back of my heel and in my legs sometimes. I do a lot of walking but quite often when I sit down and get up I'm like the tin woman. I'm assuming this is a menopause thing. I've been on Femoston (take oestrogen, then progesterone, 14 days of each) for nearly 18 months. Periods usually v light. I'm nearly 48.

Wondering if this is worth a GP visit. Have also been v stressed, I lost my Dad three weeks ago, dont know if thats a factor, but don't see how it can be.

I'm a bit worried that its the start of arthritis. I'm reasonably fit cause I dont drive and not overweight (would love to lose that vanity half stone of course). Was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar. I also take the Menopace supplements.

Hi , just wondered if your knees ever got better? Having similar problems and am a similar age (also on HRT).
Hope you found a solution!

Hi,

I did go to the GP and she recommended some knee strengthening exercises. I did these for a bit, but then life got in the way. I started taking high strength vitamin D though, which I think has really helped. I'm still a bit like the tin women when I stand up to get off the bus or the tube sometimes, but nowhere near as bad.
