Post menopausal bleeding & 2 week referral pathway - anyone want to join me for a handhold while we’re waiting?

Saw my GP today following 3 days of light bleeding & spotting and now on the 2 week referral pathway.

Trying not to PANIC 😱& wondering if anyone else is in the same situation and wants a virtual handhold, or anyone who’s been there and done that and wants to share their experience.

In case it rings bells with anyone else - I’m 52, not sure exactly when my last period was but over 12 months ago, not on HRT (have prescription but not started yet) & have had red / pink bleeding & spotting.

Thanks both for your replies - much appreciated. @MrsDrudge did the polyp not show on the ultrasound scan? I am glad you are well and it was all benign.

@JinglingSpringbells Yes, I was taking 200mg of Utrogestan for 12 days a month, and have been doing so all the time I have been on HRT. I am sure this bleed, whatever it is, was caused by the increase in oestrogen recently though it's truly bizarre that having been put up to 100 on the patches my levels were lower than on the 75!

I am done with it all now.

I think you should wait and see what the outcome is of the tests.
If you find you have symptoms, you can re-think.

This is a very small 'blip' and most likely it's occurred because you have increased your estrogen. A bleed is normal and the lining can be as thick as 10mm or more during a cycle when it's building up.

You can always try gel or tablets if you find you need to restart HRT.

All the best with it.

Yes the ultrasound revealed the polyp which was easily removed and I was back to work 3 days post op.
Sending good wishes for a speedy resolution for you xx
