Only Day 3 of HRT and breasts huge

Katie000 · 18/11/2022 14:46

I’m only on Day 3 of Oestrogel and continuous Utrogestan and today my breasts are huge, not sore just much bigger.
I’m usually a 34b and just measured myself and I’m a 34d, that’s two cup sizes bigger! I would like them to go back to 34b but as new to HRT, I don’t know what usually happens.
Will they grow more? Will they return to usual size? Is this my new size now?
Really hoping someone has experienced this and can help.

I've never, ever heard of anyone going up 2 Cup sizes after 3 days of hrt.
Perhaps your measuring is a bit out or perhaps you've put on weight in recent months? It can take weeks before effects are generally felt.

I wonder if you have any anxiety issues op going by your other thread? Don't mean to pry just it seems you're expecting the worst. I'm not sure it's going to be a positive experience for you tbh

Thanks Janiie
It is strange but hopefully will calm down in next few days, I was hoping someone else may have had same thing?
On the positive side, I am now sleeping through the night, and no longer have vaginal dryness, which I didn’t know I had until I stopped having it!

I am on day 12 and have breast swelling , like I am about to start my period. I am hoping all will settle in time .

Katie000 · 18/11/2022 16:05

So glad someone else has it too! I’m hoping they don’t grow anymore and hopefully return to usual size in time.
I’m so pleased to be sleeping through the night at long last though, so if huge breasts is the trade off, I’ll take the sleep and live with the large breasts.

My friend has just told me to relish every side effect as it’s a sign of my body waking up again! So that’s what I’m going to do now!
Big breasts are new to me but they are the new me and I will embrace them!

Yes , I have always been quite small . What your friend said makes sense 😃 I will take anything as long as I can feel normal again 😃

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 18/11/2022 20:01

I had this too. It was painful and I'm already big. They didn't go back till I came off hrt.

I also had a 3 week period. Was extremely grumpy and moody.

Didn't work for me.

AgathaMystery · 18/11/2022 20:03

I had this too. I had to buy a sleep bra. It was hideous. I used one pump a day for 6weeks u til it settled and gradually titrated up. It got better I promise.

glasshole · 18/11/2022 20:11

Oh my god, I'm my second patch /day 6 of evorel sequi and my boobs are SO painful and even more massive than normal. I'm a 40 FF and couldn't even put a bra on this morning, had to settle for a stretchy bralette thing. The pain/sensitivity goes all the way into my armpits! It feels like my armpits are sunburned. I am really hoping this settles as I've always started sleeping better so don't want to stop HRT.

longcoffeebreak · 18/11/2022 20:16

Yeah I was bloated after taking it for three days - thought it was just me as I told the doctor and they said oh dear stop taking it then but that's not a usual effect etc

dottydoglover · 18/11/2022 20:20

I've been off the Oestrogel and continuous progesterone for a week - have been on hRT for a year - feel better for coming off it so far as felt like I'd got continuous PMT with sore boobs! But if the flushes come back I will have to go back on it !

JinglingXmasbells · 18/11/2022 20:26

@Katie000 I agree with @Janiie that it's almost impossible for breast to grow so fast with that amount of estrogen in 3 days.

Ditto for your 'lack ' of vaginal dryness!

1 in 4 women use/ need HRT and vaginal estrogen (creams/ pessaries) and it can often take weeks or even months for things to improve.

So, although HRT can do wonders, in a few weeks, it can't perform miracles in 3 days!

Maybe some of your 'signs' of change are your own cycle if you are in peri?

hamstersarse · 18/11/2022 20:30

My boobs grew instantly too. Painful and very much not wanted!

I also put on weight….just a layer of bloat

i stopped after a year, few months off now and boobs back to teeny and all weight gone

Now on Day 5/6 and breasts still swollen and aching, GP trying to persuade me to have Mirena coil but not sure why? Any advice?

when did you discuss this with your GP?

justcallmebozo · 19/11/2022 20:40

OP why are you posting the same things on two different threads at the same time?

blackberrybat · 19/11/2022 20:41

I had this too. I only took the HRT for 4 weeks, couldn't get on with it at all, my boobs were huge and hard and my nipples were permanently erect it was so painful even if I just brushed against something. Stopped the HRT amd it went away within a few days. Not sure if I'm ready to give it another go yet (it also made me hideously moody).

Spoke to GP this afternoon

Spoke to GP this afternoon

Really?

You are very lucky to be able to a) get an appt so soon and b) find a GP who works Saturday afternoons! Is this the NHS?

What did you need the appt for?

I'm struggling to get my head around you being on the 'gold standard' of HRT for 5 days, and your GP now suggesting you swap.

Why?

Just stick to one thread @Katie000 if it's the same topic.
