estrogen adverse reaction

Hope someone can help I'm off to the GP as soon as they open.

I took my first dose of oestrogen gel yesterday morning, one dose on one arm as I've been told to build up gradually. (Also taking progesterone pills)

I felt queasy worked all day and then had the most crushing chest pain and heart beat in my head, like anxiety pain, that won't go away, I feel tingly now and exhausted and still really anxious, I've hardly slept and the pain and weird feeling hasn't gone away overnight?

Any ideas, I'm not rushing to take another dose today, this was my first one, so given this really odd reaction I'm thinking I should see the Gp

Has anyone had similar?

I think you need to get immediate medical attention. Right now.

The oestrogen gel sounds like a coincidence.

If someone else described those symptoms to you, what would you think?

What do the contraindications leaflets with the gel and the tabs say?

I've read them all and it's mostly queasy and mild symptoms so seeing the GP shortly and still feeling awful.

I had immediate anxiety and heart racing on the gel. I haven't had that at all on patches. See what GP thinks but patches might be worth a try.

Thank you, that's exactly what it feels like, I'm still waiting for the GP to call me back.

I have whooshing heart racing and anxiety like panic sensations, and I'm not used to this feeling as it's not something I normally experience.

Im surprised it's still happening now so im not taking another dose until I get everything checked.

Are you ok on patches now? No reaction?

It's such a horrible feeling @greeandorange . Yes, I was on patches for a year with no problem. Then I tried the gel last month but immediately had the anxiety, insomnia, heart racing etc and it didn't subside so after a month I asked to go back on patches. I feel much better now I'm back on the patches.

Thank you, how many days did it last 🤦‍♀️

I'm about 24 hours now and praying it gets out of my system.

The feeling lasted the whole time I was using the gel @greeandorange but it stopped within 24 hours of stopping the gel and putting on a patch. It took a few days before I was able to get a full night's sleep.

Being slightly nauseous is common as it's like morning sickness. It wears off or you can reduce the dose to half a pump then build up.

Crushing heart pain is not normal and you should have gone to A&E.
It's not likely that a tiny dose would do that - do you suffer from anxiety , as a possible trigger?
