Progesterone for 25 days??

I've been on Novofem for three years. Doc has switched me to gel and progesterone tablets due to less risk of blood clots (I'm 50). I have to apply the pump gel x2 everyday. All good. The progesterone tablets I was expecting to take for 14 out of 28 days. However, the doc has said that I take the tablets from day 1 right through to day 25 with only 3 days oestrogen pump only. Is this common? Thank you

Are you perimenopausal or post? It’s not uncommon, it’s a continuous regime rather than the sequential you know about. Usually it’s sequential if still menstruating or continuous post. But some doctors will say to go continuous, with the break like you’re doing, either because of side effects someone might have with higher dose, or because they’ve been on sequential for a year. I’ve been on sequential Utrogestan over a year and moved to continuous recently because my periods are not regular and it was not working for me.

Yes, still get periods although they can be irregular. Good to hear that it's ok. Thank you x
