Caffeine

Is anyone else no longer able to tolerate any caffeine at all? I had two tiny glass bottles of coke zero yesterday afternoon, I think they are 230mls each, and I was awake until 5am 🤬

Had to wake up at 6 for a scheduled telephone call at 6.30am so will have to do today on fuck all sleep.

The same even happens if I drink tea past lunchtime, I've switched to decaf tea now!

My sleep is so disrupted that I think I'd be dead without caffeine (although I do appreciate it's probably a catch 22 situation).

My issue atm is that I can't tolerate alcohol at all! Fast asleep after the slightest drink, followed by a three day hangover 😭

Stopped having caffeine after about 4pm recently and it's helped my sleep quality

lljkk · 07/11/2022 07:46

think I'm slightly more tolerant than I used to be, but that's starting from very reactive place

I don't have caffeine after 10am, I have decaff tea then

Jesus. I had a two day hangover earlier in the year and stopped drinking for a while after that. That was purely down to the amount I drank though.

I've had a few glasses of wine recently and been fine, except for a but if a reaction on my face, hot and red, but no hangover. If I had to give drinking up completely as well I wouldn't be happy.

I've switched to decaf completely, so I'm on the hunt for some decaf earl grey now.

I have about 5 cups of coffee a day- but these days they are all decaff. My sleep is still poor... but not as poor as it was when I drank caffeinated. I now fall asleep quickly but sleep lightly with several wakenings through the night. Would love to feel refreshed when the alarm goes off but I feel shattered.
Blaming menopause - am 55 and it's been like this for a good few years now. Mercifully only minor problems with menopause generally.

I'm still OK with caffeine, but no coffee after 1pm. Given up the booze when realised 1 small glass wine gave me a headache. 😞 Have had an occasional bottle of beer since then.
