Posted on a group I am a member of earlier today. Thought I'd share....

Today I visited a holistic menopause therapist. I expected to come away with arm fulls of supplements, but instead I came away with a sense a calm. I’d spent an hour with someone who understood and a bunch of practical tips to start make things better. May not help everyone, but here’s some of the wisdom:

  • It’s a journey, recognise some of it is an opportunity for positive lifestyle changes
  • Map my diet, sleep and mood symptoms and see if there are patterns and triggers that I can change
  • Map the brain fog - are there patterns to the lulls as well as the clarity
  • When anxiety rears it’s head have distraction techniques, great music, self care, good friends, the odd glass of wine
  • Focus on what brings me joy and schedule to do more if it first!
  • Self care and self kindness are so important
  • Book in exercise especially weight bearing and anything in the fresh air
  • Meditation and relaxation
  • And just be kind to yourself. ❤️

Hope some of that’s helpful x
