Feeling unhinged

I’ve been feeling increasingly out of balance recently. Tearful, anxious, irritable, can’t be bothered. After private testing it turns out my oestrogen was too high and progesterone not being properly absorbed from cream so I’m being put on progesterone tablets to try and balance things out. I had read about the effects of too much oestrogen but hadn’t twigged the link. Hoping once things balance out I’ll feel better but this depressed, down, every day feeling flat and tedious is awful. When our hormones are wonky it’s really hard to put other things in place to support ourselves too.

I hear you. We can take HRT but our bodies will still be having wild swings hormonally. High one day, low the next.

Thanks for the support. I’m menopausal not peri but as my oestrogen levels had been creeping higher and not balanced by enough progesterone I’d been getting more and more wobbly. Hopefully it can be balanced out with different treatment but yes that the feeling of being slightly unbalanced is weird.

Solidarity back to you too!

Hopefully things can gradually level out for you! I’m peri and benefitting from HRT a great deal but I still feel those hormonal swings going on underneath. Sometimes unhinged is exactly how I feel!

I strongly relate to feeling unhinged!

Hi Fififizz, just wondering how you are doing now? Your post struck a chord with me, the flat feeling every day and the tediousness of everything.
