Would be grateful if anyone has experience of anxiety improving on HRT and what HRT you found worked for this?

Many thanks

It really did. I wish I had gone to the Drs ages before I started HRT (Evorel patches) due to surgical menopause.
I was recently suffering a period of quite severe anxiety again but this has been hugely improved with a dose increase.

DinkyDaisy · 01/11/2022 18:47

I am always going to be an anxious type but once settled into hrt I am relatively calmer. I am on Femoston 1/10.
I started a year ago and in my 50s. I so wish I had started earlier...

lissie123 · 01/11/2022 18:48

Yes totally. Feel so much more chilled and relaxed and so much less anxious. Sleep better too.

Nutsabouttopic · 01/11/2022 18:49

Yes anxiety was my main symptom. I don't normally suffer from anxiety. Three days after starting on Estradot patch all was good again

Squirrelsnut · 01/11/2022 19:09

Absolutely, it's been a life saver.

cushioncovers · 01/11/2022 19:10

Yes it did

Myjobisanightmare · 01/11/2022 19:19

That’s good to hear I’m only on month 2 of Elleste Duet and when I’ve gone onto the progesterone and estrogen part my anxiety goes off the charts worse I’ve ever known 24/7 for 4 or 5 days then it lessens I’m hopeful things will improve with time

Buteverythingsfine · 01/11/2022 19:26

Not for me, unfortunately, I just had lots of extra symptoms like bloating, pains, sickness. I did the three months, changed from pills to patches but not for me,no idea why! Anxiety helped by antidepressant venlafaxine low dose. I think the moral of this is different things suit different people, HRT is definitely worth a try as a starting point.

colouringindoors · 02/11/2022 19:52

Praying it helps me.Just about to start the 12 day phase of utrogestan (have estradiol gel every day) the last few days my anxiety has got worse and worse, today it's been horrific and I don't know what to do with myself 😪😪😪

Mary46 · 03/11/2022 09:06

Yes itdoes. Takes time I think. My friend thinks Ive more energy more cheery. Thats positive.

CatNut2017 · 03/11/2022 12:29

It did for me. I'm on daily 2 pumps Oestrogel + 12 days Utrogestan for 12 days every month.

When I switched to Lenzetto spray for 3 months, the anxiety did return but quite as strongly.

CatNut2017 · 03/11/2022 12:30

sorry * not quite as strongly

Aquamarine1029 · 03/11/2022 12:32

HRT saved me, and I mean that very seriously.

Tootsey11 · 03/11/2022 12:34

No, has done nothing for me, mine is getting worse instead of better.

HairyKitty · 03/11/2022 12:35

Ooh yes absolutely. It was less anxiety in the sense of worrying, but lots and lots of physical anxiety symptoms eg churning stomach, shaking, running to the loo.
Almost all gone, reduced by 90%.

hsamantha · 03/11/2022 13:26

@HairyKitty

Yes this is me also, all the physical symptoms are just in overdrive. What combination of HRT are you taking x

Whatacrocof · 03/11/2022 13:29

Hi for me it didn’t work. I have bad anxiety anyway therefore I’m on a low dose of Venlafaxine xx

HairyKitty · 03/11/2022 13:38

@hsamantha at that time 2 utrogestsn x 12 days plus 2 pumps oestrogen. Anxiety symptoms were relieved within a month.
Have increased dose for other symptoms. If I miss a dose I can feel the anxiety symptoms returning the same day

colouringindoors · 04/11/2022 10:38

I think it's helping, 2 nights of 200mg utrogestan later. Though chat with lovely gp and recognition that my life is currently very stressful prob a factor too... God we women can have it tough 🌷🌷🌷

Moominfanjo · 04/11/2022 11:01

The oestrogen part for me not so much as it seems to make me more hyper (Ihave Adhd) but then it again it does help with the dark depression days I used to have. The utro part definitely chills me out and I can sleep well and stress less on those days.

KaliforniaDreamz · 04/11/2022 11:06

yes absolutely but i find i need 3-4 oestrogel pumps a day or the anxiety comes back

hsamantha · 04/11/2022 14:05

@Aquamarine1029

That's so good to hear, I'm hoping it can save me too.

What method were you prescribed x
