Evorel Conti How many per prescription?

Just that really.
I have just had an hysterectomy prior to which I was taking Femoston Conti and paying for a prescription every three months. My GP has just put me on Evorel Conti and when I got home after collecting my prescription I was shocked to discover I only had 8 patches (4 weeks), is that correct?
I didn't expect there to be such a difference between pills and patches.

Maybe because it's a change in prescription? I got 4 weeks at first and now 3 months.

PJ04JCW · 30/10/2022 16:40

I got 3 months for my first prescription and 6 months for my second

LizzieSiddal · 30/10/2022 16:41

I get 3 months worth each time.

Wherediditallgo · 30/10/2022 16:47

I get 3 months at a time.

3 months for me. I thought if you've had a hysterectomy you only need estrogen only HRT. Evorel Conti is combined estrogen and progestogen.

....and yes, 8 patches = 4 weeks

My GP only prescribes 4 weeks at a time as well. Not only does it make it more expensive but it is REALLY difficult to get them to issue the repeat prescription so I often end up “stretching” the patches by only changing them every 5 days. I also had to get my own BP machine and every three months I am supposed to have a review by telephone and tell the doctor my current weight & BP but getting the review appointment is next to impossible. I booked my review two weeks ago and it is still two weeks away…. I stuck the last patch in my packet on this morning so will either have to go without or order some from the internet.

It’ll more than likely be because they’re new to you. They’ll want to make sure they suit you first before increasing them.

First two prescriptions were for 8 weeks each as they were prescribed mainly to see if they helped my migraines.
Since then, six months worth at a time.
I bet its because its new for you.
