Can anyone tell me what the withdrawal bleed could be like on week 4 just started 1st patch just wanted to be prepared not really used to bleeding as been on mini pill for 10 years and do you get PMT too as that was one of the reasons I liked the pill eased and took away my PMT not looking forward to that again or is it more like a "fake period" also how long till menopause symptoms ease any help please

I'd be interested to know as well.

I've just been prescribed Evorel Sequi to if I start now I'm going on holiday on week 3/ 4 when you start putting the conti patch on was reading you get a bleed ! I'm going to a hot place so really don't want one so I'd be interested to know how bad the withdraw bleed can be.

Good to know I'm not the only one not been given enough info my Dr is pretty useless so let's get back on this on week 3/4 and compare

I’m at the end of week 2 on mine, it’s the first time in months I’ve went 2 weeks without bleeding despite being on the mini-pill.

so for the next 2 weeks I take the ones with progesterone and will have a bleed then go back onto the oestrogen only ones? No break at all?

I was on these a few years ago until there was a shortage and had to switch to gel.

From what I recalled, my bleed would not necessarily fall when it was meant to, and I got really confused as I'd hoped it would lengthen my cycles - they were 23/24 days so a few months in and I was bleeding in the first half of the packets!
I've since learnt that you should ignore when the bleeds are and just follow your HRT regime. But if your symptoms aren't being relieved after a couple of months, speak to your GP - one size does not fit all and you may need tweaks. I don't get the rage like I used to, but sweet cravings still kick in a few days before a bleed is due, even if I don't bleed! (I'm 3.5 years in and every few months I'll miss a bleed altogether).

@sweetkitty no break, keep going 2 weeks with the estrogen only, 2 weeks with the combined.

@Achangeiscomeing watch out with where you place the patch, it needs to be covered up in the sun, if it gets too hot it you will absorb too much hormone in one go which can make your skin more sensitive.

@WhatsitWiggle thanks this is the longest I have gone in months without bleeding a whole 2 weeks it feels great if I can get to 3-4 weeks that would be great and just get some energy back and not want to kill everyone around me

Achangeiscomeing · 30/10/2022 06:51

I've not had a period since April.
I'm not to keen on using / starting the patches knowing I may have a withdraw bleed in 3/4 wks
I went to see a specialist who is top of his game went private he didn't say much just said do I want to try patches I said yes but he didn't explain it well all he said was i may have a withdraw bleed ?
I've decided to not start the patches until I've come back from my holiday it's a hot / beach holiday and last thing I want is a withdraw bleed while I'm away.

Joanne73460 · 07/11/2022 10:08

Anyone else feel like their symptoms mainly hot flushes insomnia in my case dizziness has returned after putting on Conti patch I was just starting to feel a big difference or maybe it's just me

I know I'm late to this thread but this is the very reason I am going to go back to my gp to ask for evorel 50 rather than sequi as I don't want to
Bleed every month. I'm going to bite the bullet and get Mirena fitted too!

Forzatesoro · 15/11/2022 21:26

I'm on Evorel sequi
Days 1-14 oestrogen
Days 25-26 oestrogen and progesterone tablet (utrigestan)

I've been on HRT since mid June. I'm 46

I've not had any bleeding whatsoever since March/April time. Go figure!

What I'm saying is a withdrawal bleed is not inevitable. Around 15% users don't bleed. But I completely agree you'd not want to take a chance when on holiday!
