Do “they” say you’re through menopause if you’re not had a period in 12 months and risk of pregnancy then passes by the way side. You’ve been off the mini pill for 4 months without a period.

what is the reason for taking the HRT patches? Menopausal symptoms only? If so, why not also use condoms for next 8 months this just to be sure or ask GP for a coil. Presuming you don’t need progesterone so no need for mirena? (I have mirena coil for progesterone and patch for oestrogen.)

off topic, but my DH has vasectomy when balancing all the hormone birth control options while starting peri menopause was difficult for me. Could that be another option to reduce risk of pregnancy?

If you are under 50, the medical advice is you use birth control for 2 years beyond your last period. One year if periods stop age 50+. So, 4 months with no period is not cutting it!

FSH is not a reliable blood test for women in peri menopause.

Hi everyone thank you so much for your advice could have walked straight into a disaster I watched a YouTube video last night from a leading menopause expert you guys were so right about everything the 1-2year period free depending on age the fsh results being unreliable I've been lucky my symptoms haven't touched my libido so was looking forward to a weekend away with hubby in a few weeks have all other symptoms bad night sweats hot flushes brain fogging insomnia also itchy skin and dizziness but anyway I'm so angry my GP is so lacking in knowledge had to do my own research and told her things she didn't know I can't be referred to a specialist as our area where I live have said they are too overwhelmed unless going private any advice on how to get the mini pill? Thanks
