Combined patches

Just came back from GP after describing menopausal symptoms. Got prescribed combined HRT (which I haven't picked up yet so don't know the brand) However he said that there are no combined patches and I would have to take tablets or coil.

Now I am home and looked it up I can see that this isn't the case and there are combined patches. Is there any reason why he wouldn't give me patches? Feel a bit peeved I was misled.

I would prefer this because I have colitis would rather not cope with it in digestive system. Which I told him...

That's odd - I'm in Evorel Conti which is a combined oestrogen/progesterone. I also have oestrogel to top up the oestrogen.

Have you found it effective?

I might not pick them up and try for a phone appointment tomorrow to see if it can be changed to patches.

Is there any benefits of tablets over patches? Maybe they are cheaper to NHS.

Argh. Now I have to wait for them to schedule some bookable appointments. Why is this never easy?
