Evorel 100 and anxiety

I’m 58 and had a hysterectomy with ovaries left when I was 36/37
very recently trying HRT as I am tired beyond belief - wake up constantly etc
started on evorel 50 and can’t say I felt it helped - so dose increased to 100
Im nearly 3 months in and getting anxiety which I’ve never suffered from, horny which would be ok if I was able to make the most of it and tiredness only slightly improved
anyone else similar? Did it settle down? I could ask to reduce back to 50 or could give it longer

What about trying the 75 dose?

I've just switched from Evorel 75 to using Estrogel (equivalent to 100) and I've had some issues with anxiety/feeling on edge/wired so I think it might be a symptom of too much estrogen.
Why not try Evorel 75?

Flockameanie · 20/10/2022 19:50

I stopped taking my HRT because I was getting anxiety attacks from the oestrogel. So I think it is a ‘thing’…

Thank you
I’m going to cut size of patch down tomorrow and see if it helps

I've just been upped to 100 Estradot from 75 as my anxiety was getting worse along with hot flushes.
I had ovaries removed in hysterectomy at 45 four years ago and started on Estradot 50. (I'm not in UK, it's the equivalent of Estradiol I believe. )
Put the new patch on last night, had mental hot flushes all through the night and today I'm absolutely wired and a bit shaky.
Idk whether to take it off or see if it improves.
Absolutely sick of this. So tired and achey all the time too.

WarriorN · 21/10/2022 09:45

I've had to go up by 12.5 increments on patches for a good 6-8 weeks. 37.5 to 50 was fine, 50 to 75 was not and so I asked for some 25s to cut in half when moving to 100.

Anxiety and up and down energy / gut issues are the main issues, sometimes aching legs

Yes I hear you. I've been on full 100 for about 6 weeks (cobbling 75 plus 25 everol) and switched to 100 estradot last week. Noticing a difference re sleep but waking at 4:30 am every day!

It should be the same stuff but I do prefer estradot. <sigh> (it's rarely in!)

Lots of magnesium spray helps. I make it up myself as it's cheaper that way.

Oestrogel didn't agree with me at all, felt anxious, wired and unpleasant thoughts. But the equivalent in patches was fine. It may be the gel rather than HRT itself x

Flockameanie · 22/10/2022 11:35

Oh that’s interesting @Timmymagical. Maybe I’ll try patches instead. I assumed because it’s essentially the same thing (oestrogen) just delivered by different methods that it would be the same issue
