Duloxetine and incontinence

My GP has prescribed me Duloxetine for stress incontinence. I have spent years doing pelvic floor exercises and used a kegel8 machine and seen a pelvic physio who discharged me. I have also had the bulkamid procedure.

I know that surgery is probably the next option.

I am perimenopausal and on HRT. One of my main problems is insomnia which HRT doesn't seemed to have helped much with. One of the side effects of duloxetine is insomnia and having read all the other side effects, quite frankly, I am scared to take it!

Anyone else been on it?

Hi, just searching Duloxetine and saw your thread. Did you start it and did it help ?

Throwncrumbs · 28/03/2023 20:38

I took it for a while, for muscle pain, stopped taking it as it made me feel awful.

@Inanun2

No, I never took it.

Maybe I should have tried but the side effects looked awful and being perimenopausal and suffering with insomnia, I didn't want to take anything that was going to make it worse.

I'm on it, and have been for a while. I am also on HRT.

It's been very helpful for me because I have struggled with other meds and side effects.

Duloxetine worked very quickly for me and took me from permenantly anxious, horribly stressed and depressed mess, to a being a human being again.

It's worth a try.
