Dryness itching help

Hello! I have just started HRT for menopause symptoms - low doses atm - but the main symptom hasn't much improved - the vaginal dryness and constant itching. Heard good things about Replens...Has anyone tried this for better or worse?

Replens is a moisturiser, it's not going to help your symptoms which are caused by a lack of oestrogen.

HRT might be enough when it kicks in, but you might also need Ovestin (cream) or Vagifem (pessary). Ask your GP specifically for one of these - in your shoes I'd be requesting Ovestin.

Thank you for this - have Ovestin! I wondered - is it good for us externally too i.e. on dry vulva skin? It's killing me!

Have you tried YES VM? I was very itchy and burning, used this every day for the first couple of weeks, now just a couple of times a week to keep it all comfortable.

@NLMUM80 yes, you can use it externally too. If you want, you could try some 1% hydrocortisone which is available over the counter, just until it calms down. My GP suggested this and it worked.

@DramaAlpaca oh than you for this - I'm super interested in the hydrocortisone cream; my doctor did suggest...I am a little scared of it damaging the skin! Great to hear it worked for you - once, twice a day...how long did you use for?

@NLMUM80 I think it was morning and evening for about a week.

I have tried but the stinging tbh was intolerable
