Can anyone shed any light on these numbers?

Apologies in advance that I haven't searched for this.

Am 44 and went to my gp with long list of whst I think is peri menopausal symptoms (hair loss, fatigue, nausea, aching joints, low libido etc) . She took some bloods, I was on day 2 of my period (I have the mirena but still bleed every month).

She told me my fsh and lh are normal, (7.
5 and 4 respectively) but my oestrogen is low at 154pmol?
A quick google tells me that is normal?

She has prescribed me the sequential evoral patches? Do I need them?

I would start them op. Hormones fluctuate. They could be different results if done another week later.

You are most likely peri menopausal whatever the results say.

I do wonder when we'll have an epidemic of blood clots with all these pre menopausal women taking extra oestrogen. Davina has a lot to answer for.

@Sarahcoggles The risk of blood clots with HRT is not changed by using gel or patches.

The risk level stays what it would be for the woman anyway, without HRT.

NICE guidance www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng23/chapter/Recommendations#information-and-advice

the risk associated with transdermal HRT given at standard therapeutic doses is no greater than baseline population risk

Interestingly the risk of blood clots is far higher for women using The Pill.
