I'd not had a period for 18 months when I started on Conti, but by 5 months was having a bleed every two weeks on it.
Someone on here suggested cutting the patch in half, so, thinking it was worth a try, that's what I did.
So now half a patch controls all my symptoms and makes me feel normal - no bleed for over a year now.
I can't tell you to do that, it's probably not the way to go about it, but its what worked for me.
I couldn't feel any difference going from one to half, but I know I feel rotten with none at all!

I'm on evoril conti and also bleeding every two weeks. (Impressive for a woman whose ovaries were removed last year). I'm also contemplating jacking it in but wonder about the cutting in half before I do that. Don't want to lost the advantages of HRT but the constant bleeding is tedious.

Have you spoken to your GP? Or the menopause expert at your practice (mine is the pharmacist).

I'm on the evirel sequi patches which for 2 weeks each month involve switching to the conti. The conti have progesterone in, specifically to make you bleed, which is the necessary for your womb health if you had periods before hrt and have a womb.

Are you on the conti patches for the whole month? Is there a reason you need progesterone? I'm wondering whether you need it at all as you said your periods had stopped already.

I'm not medically trained. I've read up about my own situation and found the balance app extremely informative.

Hope this link works. Says that conti is for women who have womb, but stopped periods. Shouldn't give you a period but for first few months can have breakthrough bleeds.

Following with interest as was just going to start a thread on this too.
Was on novofem 1mcg since aged 48 for peri.
Three months ago was getting bad symptons again ( insomnia, anxiety and fatigue)
Doc put me on conti patches as on novofem combined I had not had a period for 2 months.
Now I have had a really heavy full on period since being on these patches every month that lasts for 9 days.
Its a shame as I feel better on these apart from bad period pains.
I just dont know how to deal with it.
Unless I come off HRT altogether how do you know when periods stop. I am nearly 52 and had enough. I hope you get it sorted too.

RaininginDarling · 05/10/2022 11:58

Sorry @Evis1973 I just saw your question. 5 months too. Hope to get to speak to a GP about it as I've had one day not bleeding since the beginning of September

RaininginDarling · 05/10/2022 12:00

Should say: have womb but ovaries were taken out last summer - which was why I moved overnight from peri to meno.
