Does hrt cause melasma?

Anyone know if HRT causes melasma? I've developed it on my face; namely cheeks, forehead and bridge of nose. I had the mirena fitted 4 months ago and wonder if it's that which is causing the hyperpigmentation?

My melasma was caused by pregnancy. The dermatologist told me it's hormone related and to keep out of the sun and use spf50.

I would guess hrt probably would cause melasma?

Possibly.

Use spf factor 50 for your face every day.
