How do i get the marks off from hrt patches?

The gp said try baby oil, so i tried but it didn't help. I bought an exfoliating sponge, it rubbed me raw but didn't lift the patch marks.
I usually put them on the tops of my thighs and it just looks silly now. I shower every day but it doesn't help.

What can i do?

I’m really interested in the answers to this! I’m on my second patch and want to know how to get rid of the patch outline!

RowenaCoxwell · 01/10/2022 23:37

I use bio-oil or body butter and rub it in generously. Then a couple of hours or so later rub my finger over the outline and the sticky stuff kind rolls off.

MyCrap · 02/10/2022 00:04

Pour the baby oil onto some tissue and rub the tissue across the residue.

Zoff wipes - they smell but they work!

Noname9 · 02/10/2022 00:17

Nail varnish remover
Then rinse off with soapy water

I just leave the marks on 😂😂😂😂. They are under my knickers so no one apart from my DH sees them and he and I are both so grateful for the magic of HRT that I'm happy to wear the marks as a badge of honour

crispinglovershighkick · 02/10/2022 00:51

I've used lighter fluid to get label adhesive off glass jars...😀

Vaseline? Idk, I can't get mine off either. A thick cream before a shower helped a little but it was still hard work scraping them off. Vaseline before showering would probably work better.

My patches were out of stock so I was given a different brand. The patch was huge and papery (unlike the small shiny kind I usually use) and it was barely on before it started coming off, but otoh it didn't leave a mark. Swings and roundabouts.

MaChienEstUnDick · 02/10/2022 00:55

Are you talking about the black outline that goes around the patch? That's just a bit of baby oil on a tissue and rub.

But the fact you're calling it a patch mark makes me wonder if you're talking about a mark the shape of the whole patch - which might actually be an allergic reaction?

Summerhillsquare · 02/10/2022 07:58

The blu tack method!

Once youve peeled your 'old' patch off, dab/wipe it over the residue, after a few goes it comes away.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/10/2022 07:59

it is annoying - especially going swimming

Randome but my friend has a stoma bag and gets issues this spray to remove the sticky bag from her tummy and when she had HRT patches realised it worked for both they just wipe off apparently.

CrookCrane · 03/10/2022 23:21

I would second cavilon or hydrocortisone cream and leave it on for 5 mins then scrape it all off.

Acetone

Never heard of a off wipes. Are they American?

ThePumpkinPatch · 03/10/2022 23:42

*Zoff

Nat6999 · 03/10/2022 23:56

Hand sanitiser, the alcohol takes sticky away.

arghtriffid · 03/10/2022 23:58

Baby oil on a flannel.

FamilyTreeBuilder · 04/10/2022 16:47

Zoff wipes are super expensive and very un-eco.

Baby oil does work on the Evorel glue, the best way I have found is to whip the old patch off before a shower/bath, have your shower, then use some baby oil on the corner of a flannel or cotton make up remover pad and then just go over the marks, you can usually pick off the softened glue in clumps.

I did pay a lot more attention to marks in the summer when on holiday and wearing swimming gear, now it's October and back to long sleeves and legs i'm really not that bothered...

BestIsWest · 04/10/2022 16:50

Baby oil here too - I rub it on then leave it for a minute then it will come off if I rub hard with loo roll.
It is a pain though and I confess to leaving them too.
