Hi new to this site so glad I found it 😊 I've not had a period in 3 years and approx 5 months ago I decided to try HRT Evorol conti patches , All was going well no nasty side affects but just there on Tuesday I noticed I've started to bleed 😟 was just wondering has anyone else experienced this with being on them TIA 💕

Yes I did. Was the first HRT I tried. While it did great things for my sleep. hot flushes, aches etc - I couldn't put up with the random bleeding. In my case it didn't settle down. I was fobbed off by my Dr. so came off HRT. However, my symptoms came back and I found it so unbearable that I went back on HRT but tried Kliovance. This was great for 18mths then I started having extremely heavy bleeding (the sort you can't even leave the house). Long story short, had to come off that one and gave up. Until recently (8mths later) and am now on Evorel 50 patches and Utrogestan pill. Hoping that this one does the trick.
I think many people have had to try different types before they find one that works well. It's frustrating as you pin so much hope on them.

Read the leaflet, join Menopause Matters. Track how often you bleed etc. Make sure you are changing the patches at the proper intervals. If no improvement, go back to the Dr.

Good luck.

I use evorel 75 patches and utrogestan. I take the utrogestan everyday without a break as my main symptom was low mood and the menopause specialist said this would help stabilise my mood.

Anyway, I've been on this regimen for about 9 months and I still get really heavy periods each month despite the specialist telling me i wouldn't 🤔 I had already tried estrogel with the same result.

As patches and utrogestan are the gold standard I'm not really sure what to try next.

@NoOnKnows utrogestan can be really ineffective at bleeding control sadly. I don't know why it's called' gold standard' hrt! I think it's rubbish. A mirena stopped my bleeding dead in its tracks.

Hi I've just started Evorel sequi and I was td by my doc I would bleed a bit but only for a few months, hopefully that'll be the case..🤔😬

Cooroo · 06/10/2022 22:48

I've been on Evorel Conti for 8 weeks. My symptoms (lack of sleep, anxiety, forgetfulness) are so far unabated. No bleeding but my breasts are getting really painful.
I'm not convinced my 'symptoms' are menopausal (I'm 63 and haven't had a period for prob 8-9 years).
I can't decide whether to pack it in now or grit my teeth in case I suddenly feel better in a couple of weeks.
Has anyone anything to offer ?
Best wishes to everyone struggling with pesky bodies.

Anyone able to help me… Conti patches???

I have been on Sequi patches for 3 years. With gradually increasing doses. (sequi patches, then sequi + evorel 25, then sequi + evorel 50)

Have just been diagnosed with non-cancerous cysts in my breasts (were very painful with water retention) which I suspect is due to too higher doses of oestrogen?

Was on Sequi patches + additional evorel 50 until two weeks ago.

GP now prescribed Conti patches instead
feel very bloated
tearful and generally absolutely awful.
legs feel weirdly heavy at night
hot flushes r back
feel a bit nauseous
headache and insomnia
anxiety through the roof…

I am 51 and still have regular (and increasingly heavy) periods.
Spoke to a GP today and she said persevere really not sure….

Also, I have raised veins on back of my legs and at night they feel like they are burning?!?

Anyone had similar experiences?
Did it work out for you?
is it worth seeing a specialist?
is it worth the cost?
At my NHS surgery always speak to someone different and takes weeks and weeks to get a phone appointment. So care is not great.

Yes saw hospital gynecologist and had scan yesterday it’s a side effect but check your on the correct dose I’m trying 1/2 a patch but she confirmed it does happen after 6 months so don’t worry there’s no harm in getting checked out in case there is a problem 😀
