Is this normal for a new HRT patch user?

I started HRT patches just over two weeks ago and have in the last few days felt much better - more energy, less itching etc.

Yesterday I started to bleed very very slightly and my symptoms are back with a vengeance. It's as if I never started the patches at all.

With thanks in advance.

Hi, I did bleed slightly and still do on occasions. Once my symptoms started to show again the doctor increased me from Evorel 50 to eventually 100 which felt like the correct amount for me. Maybe you need an increase

Many thanks for your reply. It's still quite early days but good to know an increased dose is an option

I have sometimes, around a bleed

I've been slowly going up the patches since I started last Nov. Now on 100; I had a bleed this week and a few symptoms came back.

Yes it’s very normal for up to the first year so don’t worry. Try to plot where you attach the patches as the absorption can be more effective in different positions and if less effective it can cause mini breakthrough bleed/ you’ll get the hang on it. Try your thigh vs lower back. Many women don’t persevere but do keep going as they’re very effective.

Thanks a lot both. There was a patch I wasn't certain was attached correctly so maybe the estrogen was impacted. Will see how I get on.
