Broody

Hi!

A bit random, but has anyone has a bit of a rush of being broody at the peri-menopause?

I think I'm ovulating which means my sex drive went bananas this weekend too.

I'm divorced, mother to two under 11yo and my current parnter really wants kids. So I guess I've been mulling it over a little which doesn't help!

Anyone else had similar? And it passed? Before I make a crazy decision..... 🤪

How old are you OP. Be careful.

I had ds at 45, with only one tube/ovary. It's amazing what the body can achieve when the window of opportunity is closing. 😀Be sure what you really want.

I'm 44, and my youngest is 8yo.

I have a mirena coil in, so only as safe as that is!

I'm just really taken aback by it but I'd heard about this late surge, I think us having intense talks about it has probably set it off a bit too.

Congratulations though - how was it having a child at 45? Was it your first?

Yes, my one and only. He's fab, I wouldn't be without him for a second, although it was a bit of a surprise at the time. 😊 I coped fine, have worked all the way through. No problems

I had a very easy pregnancy, natural birth (if a bit slow), he's 14 now, doing fine. Eating a lot !

yep. I am grateful almost every day that I didn't get pregnant though.

It passes relatively quickly and is just a hormonal surge to trick you into ruining the next twenty years (I know not everyone would see it that way!)

Instead, I am off on long holidays and have plenty of money, as my children have either flown the nest or are not far off.
