Hi am new to using Evorel 50mcg. Have any of you found the sticky bit not great. Not sure how people shower with it!! Evorel was out stock so got another brand.

Using them for a few years & always stayed on with no issues.

WeAreTheHeroes · 23/09/2022 21:26

I'm confused, what brand are you using?

embolass · 23/09/2022 21:27

Have heard of stickiness issues with patches but my Evorel 50s are like being waxed when removing them.

Mary46 · 23/09/2022 21:34

Dermestril 50. We in Ireland she said shortage of E so I had get this one. Yes its stuck on. I say if wet it will lift. Annoying....

I’ve just been switched to another brand as well (estraderm mx), one came off almost straight away and they’re also making my skin itch and go red. I’ve been successfully on the Evorel 50 for a year with no issues. I’m going to go back to the pharmacy and see if they have anything else.

Westfacing · 23/09/2022 21:49

I've been on Evorel for years and never had a problem with this brand; sometimes I'm given Estradot and they are fine.

With the shortages recently I've been given Estraderm and they fall off after a day - I've complained but sometimes that's all the pharmacy has, so it's that or nothing.

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 23/09/2022 21:51

I use a tattoo/wound dressing strip on top of the patch. It means it’s not quite as subtle as the dressing is quite big! But they stay on for ages (I often forget to change it on day 3 so get 4 days out of each one) and I don’t get a rash like I used to do before I discovered the covering.

ChineAndWheeseParty · 24/09/2022 21:43

TockClicking · 24/09/2022 21:45

Don't do this for too long. I found out the hard way and burnt my skin when I put them on as the glue got too hot 😂🙈

silentpool · 25/09/2022 08:43

What's the best way to get the sticky residue off after you remove the plasters?

EarringsandLipstick · 25/09/2022 08:45

Where are you putting them?

I haven't used that brand, but find Evorel fine usually & Estradot better (as they are smaller).

ImAvingOops · 25/09/2022 08:45

I put my money at church in straight after my shower, I wash with soap so there's no moisturiser and the patch sticks really well. I'm using Evorel. To get the sticky off, I just pick it off in the shower but I've read that baby oil helps.

ImAvingOops · 25/09/2022 08:46

Money at church? Where the hall dis that come from? Should have said 'patch on'

Mary46 · 25/09/2022 10:16

Put it on my right thigh. Its lifting off 24 hrs later. Annoying. I go to another chemist have a feeling thats all she had dermestril

I use Zoff adhesive remover wipes, from Boots/any pharmacy

Flamingmentalcats · 25/09/2022 11:01

Nail varnish removed gets the residue off too but you have to really scrub

WarriorN · 26/09/2022 06:10

Really scrub the area where the patch is to go when you're in the shower, then thoroughly dry with a towel. Helps them stick

ArcticSkewer · 26/09/2022 06:16

evorel is fine for me.

As you are not using evoreland can't get any I'm not sure why you are asking but if you can ever source any it sounds better than the one you are using

Mary46 · 26/09/2022 07:15

Depends on chemist. I showed her the pack wouldnt give me refund as they only stock mine so another box. Huge shortages in chemists. I just ask on thread as I was new to patches
