Mini-pill for peri menopause??

I’m 47 was on the mini pill for years (not for contraception DH has also had the snip) started having breakthrough bless so came off it. Periods were horrendous heavy, infrequent and sore. Went and saw a nurse practitioner (as you can’t see a GP here) and she recommended going back on the mini pill for 6 months to see if that helps as my issue is my periods although I’m having other peri menopausal symptoms.

Took the mini pill on day 4 of my current (she said this was ok) on day 15 I started bleeding again, heavy enough to soak through a super tampon (TMI sorry) so like I’m now having a proper period again WTAF?!!

I’ve spoken to my GP before and she prescribed some ibuprofen like drug for the pain. I’m upset and angry as I feel I’m not being listened to. I also have fibromyalgia and my hips and back are in constant pain as it is so when I have period cramps it’s unbearable. I feel like I got shunned off as I am still having periods
