palpitations a side effect of HRT?

I'm about three weeks into HRT, 3 weeks on estrogen patches and a week into progesterone tablets. For the past few days I'm having near constant fluttering sensation in my chest. I don't feel ill really it's just weird. Should I speak to my doctor?
Can't see this documented anywhere as a side effect of what I am taking.
I've only rarely had them previously.

I had this when I first started oestrogel! It was terrifying. These strange big rumbly bumps in my chest.

I stopped taking it for a week or two. When I started again - on a smaller dose - it didn't happen. I then went back up to the original dose without any reoccurrence.

@DoingJustFine thanks for the quick response. I'm on patches, I suppose it could cut in half? Just put a fresh one on this morning though.

Hi, how have you found the palpitations since you posted originally?

I’m not on hrt but I had the contraceptive implant inserted 2 weeks ago, which is similar hormones. I’ve had constant beats slipping. It’s scary!

I have an ecg booked this week

Arcadia · 24/10/2022 16:36

Hi @Gwdihooooo it went in for about a week and a half, then it seems to have settled. I've only noticed it occasionally since. The ECG was all clear. I think it might have been stress related as I had some short term stress at the time.
I'm not worried about it now.
Hope yours is okay too!

Good to hear it settled!

Mines been going on for 2 weeks now and there’s no sign of it letting up. I’ll be arranging to have the implant out.
