Hello my lovelies!

I am a newbie on here and hoping for some informed advice from your good selves 😊

I am 48 years immature and on the Cerazette POP (with a recent diagnosis of Hashimotos and awaiting an appointment with Rheumatology and seemingly the knackered yard lol) so after a discussion between a nurse and GP at my surgery to see what was the best option for me they advised this patch would be the method for me to try and if course I like to frighten myself stupid reading the accompanying leaflets so I did and virtually put myself off taking it in doing so!

So to further add to this I decided to check out posts on several forums and I know mostly posts err more on the negative experiences than positive but obviously these are still valid and useful when your wanting to make informed choices (of course keeping in mind everyone's experiences differ!) And wanted to hear about the experiences of regular ladies (which again I appreciate won't i!pact on how I may or may not respond to it if I start taking it).

I will be honest that I was not aware HRT would result in monthly bleeds (being on the POP for the last 9 years has meant no periods so am reluctant to go through it again as historically my times of the month were horrible usually starting with me being physically sick for the first 2 days! And again read enough reviews of ladies saying the bleeds on ES were heavy and painful and carried on longer than the initial few months?)

One of my other main concerns as included in the list of common side effects is weight gain which is something I am already struggling with so very reluctant to potentially gain more due to this HRT? I had a telephone appointment with a GP about some recent blood results so took the opportunity to ask about this and was basically referred to the NHS website about HRT and heard the same phrase I have read over and over saying that whilst lots of women think it causes weight gain but there is no medical evidence to suggest it either causes weight loss or gain and that it's just a result of that time of life? Sorry but that smacks of serious BS to me as if that's the case why is it down as a common side effect for this type of patch? out of curiosity does anyone know how many women needed to complain about it in order for it to be included in this list as a common side effect?

Obviously there are so many other concerns not least increasing mood swings (thankfully not something my partner has to suffer yet lol) and anxiety etc and also so many ladies saying how they notice distinct differences in themselves and how they feel depending which 2 weeks worth of patches they are on be it the first 2 weeks oestrogen or the last 2 weeks of the combined patches.

Again would love to hear from anyone who has the time to reply about this as I am currently still on the fence about whether to start it or not and going to try and speak to the nurse this week when I go for more bloods and ask what other alternatives (if any?) may have less impactful potential side effects.

Thanks for reading my lovelies Xx 😊😊

PS apologies for the 'spot the typos' mistakes in my first post (which I typically only realised after posting and didn't know how to edit it), my tablet likes to randomly change words for me to make me look incompetent and I don't need help I am capable all on my own lol 😜
