Is this how periods stop?

Ok so feel like this is a real rookie question. I'm on oestrogel and utrogestan days 15 to 26 of cycle. Like clockwork - ish period will start days 28-30. Except this month. No sign of it and heading to day 40.. actually did a pregnancy test before I though oh .. do periods just stop in menopause?! I had this idea they'd just get lighter etc... maybe it's the HRT also. Just wondering about others' experience.. thank

Mine got heavier over a few years, then stopped for a few months. This happened a couple of times. I haven't had one since last July.

hello I'm 53. My periods were always like clock work every 28 days and quite heavy. About 6 years ago they suddenly got much lighter, some months only brown spotting, but still very regular. Last Autumn I went 58 days between periods and felt dreadfully flat and depressed. Then this month I've had 2 periods only 20 days apart and suddenly feel very low again. It's really unsettling as I'm usually a very upbeat type personality.

Mine just stopped. I didn't take any HRT / herbal remedies.

I've been wondering the same - late last year they became heavier and now the last two months - nothing. I've also done two pregnancy tests, even though I knew it wouldn't be that! I'm not on hrt or anything else and have been getting night sweats for about a year, bit of brain fog and can't be arsedness.
I do feel a little like I'm waiting for it to happen - especially as I go on holiday next week so sods law......

This is my experience. After always short , light and regular periods, I had absolute tsunamis every month for about a year and then just stopped. Haven’t had a pip since September. Was very nervous up to Christmas but given up expecting one now.
Not in HRT but feel better than I did going through months of bleeding.

So I had nothing from July until the week before Xmas 🙄 Then a bad one hit - first day being the worst period pain I've ever experienced but just for the first day. Lasted about 4 days. Repeated in Jan - was doubled over with pains for one day only. Then last month, a very sudden two day appearance with zero pains.
Would be v happy for it to bugger off again as was quite pleasant not having to think about it all

43....about 5 years ago periods became very light, brown, sticky, almost non existent.

Then back to bloody, timing possibly a bit erratic from time to time.

Last year, bloody, with flooding on first morning, then generally lightish.

Last year went somewhere between 3 and 4 months with nothing. Then a heavy and painful period at the end of December, followed by 3 or 4 periods about 3 weeks apart. The last one was horrendous, started 20th Feb, was heavy for a few days, mostly flooding in the morning, along with diarrhoea (sorry TMI) then spotting for two weeks. I was exhausted. I possibly had a bug at the same time.

I feel like it might have been a final clear out, I know I m young to think that, but it felt like every last possible fluid was expunged from my body. Of course I might get a few more cycles of nothing then clear out again. Who knows?!?
