I had a brief chat on the phone with the doctor who prescribed this to see how l was getting on and l think she was a bit surprised that l wasn’t quite as ‘ thrilled about this magical HRT’ .
l wasn’t rude just said l didn’t really feel like it was amazing. I did mention that l was still anxious and easily upset over trivial things and suggested upping the oestrogel to 3 pumps. I take it this is the part of the HRT that can improve mood? I just wasn’t sure if it was working or whether l should just come off it but will probably up the dose. Is 3 a lot?

I did say that I’m suffering from quite sore ‘hard’ ‘layered’ spots around my lower mouth..many more than the odd one every other month before l started HRT. The doctor said it might be worth taking the progesterone as a pessary and that could help with the spots? Anyone have experience of changing from an oral dose to a pessary dose? Good points and bad.? Not sure why taking it in a different form would help reduce spots?

Also, sorry for the long post, but will increasingly the oestrogel to 3 pumps cause any other symptoms?
I do seem to have put weight on around my middle and really don’t want to expand my ever increasing waistline! Would this be due to HRT or a specific part of it? So increasing the pump gel will increase weight gain.?
The doctor has prescribed the same HRT as above for another 3 months so l suppose l should just give it a bit longer. For info l don’t suffer with hot flushes but mind fog, worry lots and no libido!
Thanks for reading ! Hope it makes some sense!

I don't know the answer to your questions, but just wanted to say I upped my oestrogel from 2 to 3 pumps after about 5 months, and I feel better on 3. I've definitely got middle aged spread, but my weight gain came before I started on HRT. I also switched from oral progesterone to the coil after a few months because I wanted to stop my periods. So that's an alternative to oral/pessary that might be an option for you?

The only real side effect I notice is my breasts can feel a bit sensitive. Otherwise, it's all certainly helped with brain fog, anxiety and libido.

I called it life changing for a while. But it didn't make me the perfectly calm parent I was hoping it would. And I have to remind myself that that's probably just me, not perimenopause... But it does sound like you might benefit from an increase in oestrogel if you're still suffering with the those symptoms. I'd say you've nothing to lose and everything to gain?

Ahh, what a lovely reply “ifcan” Thankyou.
I don’t want to go down the coil route but might consider the pessary route, although it’s so easy just to take a tablet at night. Maybe the spot issue will calm down in the next few weeks as my body gets more used to the hormones it not had for so long.?
And yes, you’re right increasing to 3 pumps might be the icing on the cake!? I did say to my hubby….well have you seen a difference in me since the HRT. ? He said no. But l suppose it may take some people longer to see a difference. As for the weight gain I’ll have to just try and be extra careful food wise and up my walking!
