Hrt started so well for me, and now I'm utterly drained, partly by bleeding one week on, one week off for 2 months, partly by sheer disappointment and partly by fear that I'm never going to find a solution to the fatigue and mood swings. I really need a hand hold.

The consultant I am seeing at a menopause clinic wants me to have a mirena coil fitted. I'm so worried this will be even worse, and I don't know how I'll be able to carry on of it is.

I'm sorry you are going through such a hard time. I don't have anything helpful to add but hope things improve for you. Menopause sucks.

Utrogestan does not suit everyone.

I keep posting this here, because Utrogestan has become popular after all the media input on menopause, BUT not all women get on with it.

There are other types.

You could try Femoston (tablets) that have the same low-risk profile as Utrogestan for breast cancer.

Or you could try the Mirena coil.

Don't start dismissing things that may help without trying them.

Many women love the Mirena. Some don't, but you can try it for 3 months and see how it goes.

Thanks, I'm so tired of needing to think about everything...

@JinglingHellsBells that's useful to know about the utrogestan/femoston. At the moment, the dr seems pretty sure the reason I'm having extra bleeds is the estrogen, and it's the estrogen that seemed to be giving me my energy back.

I've already agreed to the mirena coil, reluctantly, but there is a long wait for her to fit it (she's going to do other procedures at the same time). I'm ready to try just about anything tbh.
