Anyone found their HRT not working following Covid?

I had covid in July and since then some p/menopause symptoms have returned and new ones started.A colleague mentioned to me that she was having to increase her dosage of HRT and she had Covid in June. She said that she'd chatted with other women whose HRT wasn't working following having Covid.

It's difficult to pick out what's post-covid, peri or just the hot weather. 5am waking has returned, along with tiredness and aching. New to me is waking in the night sweating and feeling generally hot all the time - although not a flush that comes and goes and not a temperature, I'm just hot all the time!

I've contacted my GP surgery to request a change in dose of my estrogen. I'm just curious to see if anyone has experienced something similar.

Observational research 88* highlights transient menstruation abnormalities during acute COVID-19 possibly owing to the expression of the ACE2 receptor proteins in the ovaries 88*. Such findings support a hypothesis of temporary disruption to physiological ovarian steroid hormone production, which could acutely exacerbate symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

They're starting to but the issue is that it's observational. And it's not filtered to Gp level.

What Panay has observed is that women who are only on hrt due to full hysterectomies are getting meno symptoms post covid infection which points to the infection affecting oestrogen receptors temporarily too (how the body utilises the oestrogen) as their oestrogen is all external.

The lancet piece lists some other viruses as being documented to cause similar issues with oestrogen production.

Covid infection did more to me than the vax.

@WarriorN so that would explain the endometriosis flares.

I just wish someone would start to focus on woman's health and hormones, they are bloody fascinating.

Yes I agree. I'm sorry you're suffering Flowers

Hi, has anyone found their HRT started working again? My HRT has stopped completed and I feel like my life is over.
