I know the official line is this doesn't happen.

But I have gained over a stone now and I'm really unhappy with it.

I'm taking tablets , but still getting fatigue , brain fog , night sweats . And on top of this I've gained weight- from 9st 12 to 11 st 3 ! None of my clothes fit . I feel frumpy.
Nothing has changed diet wise .
Would you discontinue or keep going ?

Urgh, this is me. Started with Mirena and oestrogen gel in July, gained a stone in three weeks. Over the entire pandemic/WFH thing I gained 3lb between March 2020 and July 2022, so it’s not usual for me to pack on weight like that!

I’ve stopped weighing altogether and really upped exercise, but I am a solid -12/10 rather than my usual 10/12. My oestrogen dose is very low (one pump per day) so wondering if I should up it? I was told to start as low as possible.

I had the same experience (not quite a stone) - couldn't shift it at all - I tried from Jan-March. My boobs, bum and thighs were all bigger. I did stop HRT and lost the weight really quickly, within a couple of weeks.

I don't actually have any menopause symptoms though apart from insomnia so I can deal with that at the moment and am still having regular periods. When I need to I'll go back and try to work out how I can take HRT and not put on weight (I also had horrendous symptoms with the progesterone, so might wait until I don't need that anymore - when my periods stop).

You will still need progesterone if you have a womb. I

@Flamingmentalcats
I had the same and am in the process of adding testosterone to my regime. My GP says it also helps with weight gain so I'll let you know how it goes!
