Evorel 50

Can anyone use some spare Evorel 50 patches? I have 2 full boxes and one with 6 patches left as had just got new prescription when GP changed the dose to 75mg (also one lone Estradot 50 patch from when I couldn't get hold of Evorel).

I asked the pharmacy if they would re-use them if I returned them but they said they would destroy them. Seems crazy to throw them away when they've been paid for and someone else may be struggling to get hold of them.

The nurse that does HRT in our surgery said you can cut patches.

Eg if 100 too much cut a 1/4 off & she told me to stick 1.5 to make 75 or two patches on to make 100 so you can cut one in half and stick 1.5 on to get your 75 dose. I found the raw edge irritated if I didn’t stick a little bit of plaster just under it but the dose worked fine. I didn’t want to waste any patches & didn’t know anyone else on them.

Ah that’s really kind. Ridiculous with all the shortages going on at the moment but I can understand why they can’t reissue meds as they don’t know how they’ve been stored etc.

I’m sure someone could make use of them. Annoyingly I use the Sequi ones so need the progesterone element too.

yes same, I use the 50 but have to alternate with something else. weirdly this combo was the only type available in my area 3 months ago!

I use Evorel 50s - but I am in Scotland and don't pay for prescriptions. You are very kind though!

Littlemissprosecco · 06/09/2022 18:53

If you can’t find anyone, use alone and a half (75) until they run out. Don’t waste them!

PoopySalata · 06/09/2022 18:55

I could use them, I pay £££ for a private script. DM me and I'd happily pay + postage to save trawling the local pharmacies Wink

Just use one and a half patches yourself.
Cut in half diagonally from corner to corner.

IsThisNameTaken · 07/09/2022 17:31

That's interesting, I did wonder if you could use half a patch but wasn't sure if the dose was consistent through the patch (if you see what I mean).
The 50 ones I have expire in Jan 2023 so I won't use them all as well at the 75's I have so happy to pass them on - @PoopySalata I'll DM you for your address.
