TLDR - mini pill plus Mirena - too much?
can anyone please help? I had a Mirena coil fitted as part of HRT in July. I had been on the PoP for several years prior, which suited me well and stopped my periods. At the coil insertion the doctor couldn’t see it on the scan, so told me to take the mini pill along with it until I get an abdominal scan at the hospital. She said this could be a six month wait from her referral.
Three weeks in, and I had inexplicably ballooned 10lb, so I stopped taking the mini pill. Then the bleeding started, and wouldn’t stop, so a couple of weeks ago I restarted it to try and dry it up.
I am still fat and bleeding, and my skin has gone WILD. I also feel really weepy.
Reading online it seems like I have too much progesterone. I am scared to stop the mini pill in case I start bleeding even more, but I know only the Mirena can be used as the progesterone part of HRT and also be a contraceptive. WWYD? Anyone been in this situation? Will it all settle down?
(I am also on Oestrogel.)
