Morse code tinnitus anyone?

I think I've just realised this is the latest fun symptom handed to me by perimenopause. It's like a constant morse code type beeping in one ear - it's quite low frequency, and I can really only hear it at night/when it's very quiet, so thankfully not too disruptive at present.

Thing is, once I noticed it a few days ago, I remembered having it before - I first noticed it when I was pregnant, and then it went away again afterwards. So I did some Googling and it appears tinnitus can be linked with hormone changes.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced any kind of tinnitus in peri/menopause?

good description.
i get mine if I’m on the train, or have someone jig their leg at the dinner table. The frequency seems to set it off.

im not sure if it’s got to do with hormones- I have occupational hearing loss.

id see an audiologist, and an ENT specialist actually, and have your ears, eustachian tubes, and hearing checked out.

Yes I had tinnitus for ages. Did not realise it was a perimenopause symptom but since starting HRT it's gone away! Big bonus.

Yes, mine is a white noise on one ear, I've had it about 3yrs with menopause and only really notice it if I'm thinking about (like now....)

Interesting! And good to know I'm not alone. Am not taking HRT or anything yet, still experiencing fairly regular periods, and symptoms which come and go, or vary every few months. Apart from a frozen shoulder which I'm attributing to dodgy peri joints - and it appears that could be with me for a while, along with the tinnitus. The joys of middle age! Hmm
