I am just turned 46 and my periods have always been pretty regular. For the past few months I’ve had cycles which are averaging 26 days which is normal for me but have also had one which was 33 days and one of 38 days. Now my latest cycle I thought was 37 days as my period seemed to be starting 4 days ago, but it hasn’t started properly even though I get mild stomach cramps like I always have done. I seem to get a bit of red blood then it just stops and starts again on & off for the past few days, nothing more than I would need a panty liner for though. This is the first time I have had this happen so now I don’t know if this is my actual period or what?
I had painful boobs about a week ago like I always get before my period too, and also my usual mood swings just before it starts and headache.
My blood flow has never been this light as it’s always been a regular flow, with occasional heavier flow mainly last year after my covid vaccines.

From our forties periods do become erratic, all completely normal due to fluctuating hormones. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll just be the run up to them stopping completely but that could still be a few years off.

If you're otherwise ok it's a natural run down to meno. If suffering symptoms you might find hrt helpful.
