I've started HRT!

Wooo!

I'm quite far into menopause but hadn't previously had HRT owing to the cancer risk, which has now significantly reduced owing to new drugs and research. So I've been 'menopausing' for about 8 years already.......

I'm on patches and oral pills. I'd asked for testosterone to boost my non existent libido but they've said to hold off on that for now.

Any helpful advice or things to watch out for?

Any other HRT newbies out there ?

My vision /hope:
jumping out of bed after a full nights sleep, peppered with lots of sex (with no discomfort/bleeding), looking in the mirror at my glowing skin and hair, bouncing around full of energy, engaging in a scintillating conversation (using words that I can actually remember), and not creaking and aching.

Unrealistic or eminently achievable?

Please share your (hopefully positive) experiences and outcomes. Smile

Hahaha I’m not sure it’s the elixir of youth but if it is come back and tell me because I’ll start it! I’m 7mths since last period. Some hot flushes but otherwise not too bad. Then again I suppose it’s creeping up on me and it’s hard to notice. I’ve used the Ovestin cream and that makes a difference but have been scared to take full fat hrt as DM had breast cancer. I know the risk is lower than it was but I guess it depends how bad symptoms get. Good luck with it.
