I'm 48, I'm overweight (by about 3 stone), but I've been the same overweight and off for my entire adult life, so not menopause related. Been on HRT for 4 years, not had a period in 7 years. Progesterone coil, oestrogel and testosterone.
I ache. Everything aches. Getting out of bed or off the sofa feels like such an effort because it takes me until I'm across the room to stop hurting. I do a fair bit of exercise - yoga twice a week, swimming 2km in a lake 4 times a week and easily 10,000 steps a day. This isn't unusual either, I've always been really active, although I've varied my sports/exercise over the years. I've had a couple of sports injuries - mostly my knees due to a skiing accident and an achilles tendon thing due to a dancing accident (!) - but those two things aren't notable in their aching. In fact, I've followed physio advice to the letter for years since those accidents, and those injuries don't bother me.
But everything else just aches. If I've been sat on the floor, getting up is such an effort, going for a wee in the night involves bracing myself for becoming vertical.
Is this just age? Is this forever now? I'd like to run again, but there is no way.
